This is a low budget mockumentary thriller feature film that will begin principal photography in September this year. We have an excellent team in place and are looking for some final positions to be filled.

Cinematographer
We are looking for a London based skilled and experienced DP for our up and coming feature film. Experience as a DP on feature films is essential, as is experience with cameras beyond DSLRs such as REDs, Sony F series, Alexa, Black Magic cameras. Must be based in or a If you own your own kit that is a plus but not essential. Please include: – links to your work. – kit that you own or have access to, if any. – If you are available from September 25th for two to three weeks.

Pay: £500 p/week

 

1st Assistant Director
We are looking for an experienced 1st AD for our up and coming low budget feature film. Feature film experience is essential. Must live in or around London. Please apply with some information about yourself and the films you have worked on.

Pay: £300 p/week

 

Makeup
We are looking for a talented, London based make-up and FX artist. Feature film experience is essential. Please apply with links to your work, and in particular with links to any body injury make-up/FX work you have done. We woud be shooting for two to three weeks from September 25th 2013.

VICE – Digital Media Ops / Assistant Editor

Hours – 12.30am to 9.00pm Monday to Friday

VICE started in 1994 as a newsprint monthly in Montreal, and is now a global youth media company that includes print, event, music, online, television, and feature film divisions, operating in over 30 countries. VICE is the industry leader in original video for the web. With dozens of original series franchises across all content categories, VICE publishes over 60 minutes of new video content every day.

OVERVIEW

At the core of VICE is the production and distribution of premium original video content. The production arm consists of a passionate and enthusiastic team of film makers. We make content across vertical categories dedicated to news, music, fashion, sports, travel, documentaries, branded entertainment, technology and more. We find stories that fit the VICE tone and speak to our audience, as well as finding interesting stories that could fit into a brands brief.
The primary role of the Media ingest Operator is to facilitate the timely ingest of media in preparation for edit. This role requires a solid technical understanding as well as strong organisational skills. Along with Ingest duties you will be required to compile post-­?production paperwork for deliveries and edit assist on projects.

Delivery and QC

• Quality Control of all files prior to upload.
• Encoding and uploading final films to multiple platforms in the relevant format, i.e. Brightcove, Ooyala, YouTube, Vimeo and FTP’s.
• Assisting third parties with the delivery of content, ensuring it’s delivered to the appropriate technical specification and on time.
• Coordinating the completion of transcripts and translations, copy-checking and creating correct formats for multi-language closed captions.

Archiving

• Day-to-day archiving of completed projects using Presstore and Cache-A LTO tape drives. Responsible for itemizing and cataloguing all archived media.
• Managing the archive and coordinating archived assets between the international offices. Including video assets, raw footage and transcriptions.
• With the Post Co-ordinator acting as a point of contact with other VICE offices for delivery of content to broadcasters and Publisher partners.

Edit Assisting

• Assisting Video Editors through all stages of the editing process including basic technical troubleshooting.
• Sourcing external assets and minor editing.
• Recording, editing and compressing voice-over.
• Delivering rough cuts to producers for viewing in house and off site.
• Creating credits and basic graphics in Photoshop for use in edits.
• Copy-checking of English subtitles.

Required Skills:

• Confidence with Apple OS X operating system, digital media deliveries and archiving.
• Experience with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop and encoding software.
• Strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and a core technical understanding are required for this role.
• Responsibilities will be many and varied, so the candidate should have good flexibility and willingness to pick up and run with work and proactively add ideas and innovation to the VICE business.
• Effective team player with strong resiliency.

A portrait of their strained family relations and gradual descent from wistfulness, affection and boredom into mindless megalomaniacal despair. To be filmed in Cambridge, UK.

Boom Operator
We are looking for an experienced audio technician and boom mic operator to work on ‘Pastinachus’ between the 12th-16th June in Cambridge, England. Free accommodation available.

Pay: £50 p/day + expenses
